VIDEO: Rep. Kevin Yoder Keeps His Promise

As I have mentioned before, one of my favorite parts of the Promise Campaign is getting to hear the feedback from the meetings. More often that not, I hear about the overwhelming positive responses from Members of Congress and the outpouring of support for type 1 research. Hearing about the meeting experiences constantly reminds me that meeting with Members of Congress face-to-face is the most effective way we can ensure that our voices are being heard on Capitol Hill.

Just a few days ago, advocates in the Kansas' third congressional district had the chance to meet with their Member of Congress, Representative Kevin Yoder. After a successful meeting, Representative Yoder was kind enough to film a video with one of the youngest attendees pledging his support for type 1 research:

The meeting had such an effect on Representative Yoder that he kept his promise to the advocates by giving a statement on the House floor the very next day:
